The GRCTC is undertaking industry-led, business-focused R&D on the regulatory compliance problems facing the financial industry. It is researching and developing semantic technologies to help solve such problems.
The GRCTC’s objective is to provide innovative solutions, based on semantic technologies, to help solve the GRC problems that confront the financial industry. Semantic technologies can help answer many of the questions confronting financial services organizations in the ‘age of compliance’.
Semantic technology-based solutions being developed at the GRCTC help organisations: Perform enhanced Regulatory Compliance Change Management; Create regulatory and business vocabularies and rules; Develop enterprise-wide knowledge bases to enable better risk data management and aggregation; Perform regulatory compliance knowledge management; Enhance regulatory compliance capabilities.
Our multidisciplinary research teams are tasked with conducting platform and applied research that will help industry members develop semantic technology-based solutions for GRC in the financial industry. Thus, our R&.D programme is defined & driven by industry requirements.s
Six applied research projects focusing on the central theme of regulatory compliance are currently under development. The outputs of each are proofs of concepts, demonstrators or pilot GRC information systems.
